Chen Tantos

We are sorry to announce that all of the Chen Tantos have been Sold Out!
During a recent visit to the Hanwei forge of Paul Chen, CAS Iberia uncovered a cache of tantos produced before Paul developed his Shinto and later series. We are proud to be able to offer these pieces, which are regarded as very collectable. Eight different mounts are represented, each an exquisite example of its genre. Less than one hundred pieces of each type are available and there are no plans to produce more. Each piece embodies the attention to authenticity characteristic of Hanwei, with edge tempered blades, genuine ray skin and Japanese cotton handle wraps, and bronze and buffalo horn fittings with accents in precious metals. Each blade is hand forged and finished so dimensions vary – blade lengths from 10 ½" to 11" and blade thicknesses from 5mm. to 10mm. ( approx. 0.2" to 0.4"). Overall lengths vary from 14 ¾" to 15 ½". Each piece comes with a cloth bag and wooden storage case.
